Kiekko (“the app”) is a Finnish language learning app published by Caden Wurzbacher (“we”, “us”).
Your learning progress stays on your device and no account is required. The app uses Google services to show and measure occasional ads. Those services may collect the data described below.
Kiekko uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show occasional interstitial ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform to manage consent choices. Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and App Tracking Transparency setting, Google may process:
Google may use this information to deliver and measure ads, perform analytics, prevent abuse, and improve its services. Some identifiers and usage information may be used to track activity across apps or websites when applicable and permitted. You can decline Apple’s tracking prompt and still use every learning feature. Where required, a Privacy choices button appears in the app’s Profile tab so you can review or change advertising consent.
For more information, see Google’s privacy policy and advertising controls:
Your learning progress (XP, streaks, completed chapters, words you’ve looked up) is stored locally on your device using Apple’s standard app storage (UserDefaults). Kiekko does not send this learning record to our servers. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Most story audio was generated before release with Microsoft Azure neural speech and is bundled inside the app. For text without a bundled clip, Kiekko can use Apple’s on-device text-to-speech voices. The live app does not call Azure or send story text or speech recordings to our servers.
Kiekko is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information directly. Google advertising services operate subject to consent, device, and regional requirements.
We may update this policy when the app or third-party services change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
